Khun Nikom is actively involved with the foundation, helping with fundraising through numerous and continuous projects throughout the year. The committees have asked Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana to be their patron, and at some occasions the Princess presides over some of raising fund activities.
The money raised by the foundation is given to countless charities such as buying kidney dialysis equipment for Phra Nang Klao Hospital, help with temple renovations, and also coordinating with other organization such The National Defence College, The University of The Chamber of Commerce arranging seminars to encourage the academies, historians along with students to learn more with about King Rama III s reign, His contributions to the country,historical events especially the trade with China which became.
The Chinese influence is very apparent through the numerous temples built and renovated by the King. For example, one can see this in the statue of a giant dressed in Chinese attire at Pho Temple (Wat Pho) and in dishes and bowls used to decorate both the interior and exterior of his temples.
Apart from fulfilling his most honoured role as a descendent from King Rama III, Khun Nikom, a family man with two grown sons, likes to take good care of his health by doing yoga, a lesson he himself learned from a Thai guru while he was still with Siam Cement Group. Before we part, he gave me a tip on health and beauty, I highly recommend several poses everyday for everyone, especially the Sun Salutation series. Its my secret of looking younger.
